다이너모미터의 일종으로, 롤러 위에 자동차의 구동륜을 올려 놓고 이를 구동시켜 그 출력, 전동 기구의 효율 등을 측정하는 장치로 보통의 동력계는 엔진에 연결해서 동력(출력)을 측정하는 데 반해, 차량 전체로 측정하는 데서 섀시 다이너모라고 불림. 구동 바퀴로 롤러를 돌리고, 그 동력을 동력계에 흡수해서 측정하는 방식이 일반적이며, 실외주행에 가까운 조건으로 운전할 수 있어 각종 시험에 이용됨.

SpaceSensing의 CDM4WD는 하나의 장치에서 FF, FR 또는 4 륜구동 모드를 실행 할 수있는 새로운 개념의 차대동력계이며, 이 차대동력계는 제어 부하 분배 비율에 따라 전면 롤 및 후면 롤을 통해 차량 드라이브 파워를 흡수하도록 설계됨.
